Change Your Eye Brows To Match Your Makeup Style

The look of your brows can change according to your makeup style. For example, when I want to create smoky eyes and light lips I usually make my brows appear defined but definitely soft, whereas when I want dark lips and light eyes I prefer a slightly darker brow. This is based on preference, so you should make your own choices depending on what type of look you prefer.

Tweezers

You get what you pay for when it comes to tweezers, so make an investment and buy a professional brand. Tweezers come in slanted, flat, and pointed shapes. The pointed style is best for those really hard-to-get hairs, but be careful—they're sharp! I like the slanted style best as you can get rid of the hairs fast. Stick with the flat heads to apply false eyelashes.

Scissors

Asian brows have a tendency to be more difficult to control and to grow downward at the ends. You will need scissors to cut the hairs correctly and create the proper shape. I like small, straight scissors, preferably stainless steel. Look for types made specifically for brows with short blades to avoid overcutting.

Clear Brow Gel

Use brow gel to set your finished look, especially if you have not yet trained your eyebrows to stay in place. Use the gel sparingly and don't touch your brows after they're set. Messing with them too much can make the gel flake off.

Brow Cream

This is a fairly new product. I use cream when I want a defined, strong brow. It is especially great for filling in very sparse areas. If you want a more natural look be careful to use the cream sparingly, as it packs a powerful punch with just a little product. It's best to apply it with an angled brow brush.

Brow Brush

This is an essential tool that I use to train brows to stay up or to brush brow hairs up or down before cutting them. This brush usually comes in the shape of a toothbrush or a spiral. I prefer the spiral shape for thinner brows and for more detailing of brows and the toothbrush shape to brush up full brows.

Brow Pencil

Brow pencils generally last longer because they usually contain waxy ingredients. They are great for creating sharp lines at the ends of brows.

Brow Powder

This is the best product to create softer-looking brows. I like to use powder at the beginning of the brow and a pencil for the end of the brow to create a soft, defined brow. Powder is best applied with an angled brow brush. You can also use eye shadows as brow powder.
