Eyeliner For Different Occasions

Eyeliner is definitely one of the harder cosmetics to apply. However, like everything else in life, the harder you work at it, the better the results. Eyeliner can make the difference between the illusion of a large or small eye, and a sexy or plain eye. Back in the day there were not many choices for eyeliner. Liquid liners were too runny and pencils were hard and painful to work with. The way I kept eyeliner on when I was younger was to burn an eyeliner pencil and wait for it to cool slightly before applying it. There was more than one incident where I was in a hurry and burned myself. You should never do anything similar, not only because it's incredibly dangerous but because it's unnecessary. Today's eyeliners have definitely come a long way.

Natural

natural eyeliner This look is achieved by adding a little liner at the ends of the eyes to create a soft daytime look.

Winged Eye

Winged eye Notice how the liner is applied in this look. White liner is applied inside the lower rim and a thick line of liquid liner on top gives a completely different look.

Top Lid

top lid eyeliner This is probably the favorite technique for a natural look that is still defined. The eye looks finished while still looking fresh and clean. Apply a thin line of your favorite black eyeliner on the top lid as close to the lash line as possible. Apply a white liner in the lower rim to achieve this look.

Punk

Punk eyeliner Great for the adventurous girl or for costume looks. Putting liner on top and bottom lids and extending past the ends of the eye really adds length to the eye. You can do a less extreme version of this just to add length, which is often done with smoky looks.

Smoky

Smoky eyeliner This is one looke most Asian woman don't attempt because they are unsure of how to achieve it. Use a liner brush to smudge liner out. Pair it with a nude or neutral lip

Coloured cream liner

Coloured cream liner This liner comes in so many colours now from bright pinks to metallic charcoal grays. Use it instead of eye shadow to create a cleaner smoky eye. (Paired here with a black eyeliner.)
