Most, if not all, women are on a constant search for that perfect concealer. What they don't realize is that even if they find one, their needs will change over time. With your skin texture constantly changing due to environment or mood, your concealer will need to change, too.
Always use two different types of concealers: one for the thin skin underneath the eyes and another concealer for the face to cover up acne, sunspots, or any other imperfections. Concealer can be tricky because if it's too light, you look like you have a halo around the imperfection. If it's too dark, you've created more darkness and drawn more attention to the area.
If the imperfection is pink or red, use a concealer with a yellow undertone; if it's black (for example, a mole), use one with a pink undertone; if it's blue (for example, under eye circles), use one with orange undertones. Concealers should be applied with your fingers or a small concealer brush for precise coverage. When purchasing concealers, it's best if you have your foundation on so that you can match the concealer to the foundation.
For under the eyes, lighten the dark areas using a thinner, more fluid concealer. This minimizes wrinkles and darkness without looking cakey. If you're young or have dark skin, you can use a stick or cake concealer.
For imperfections around the nose, chin, and forehead, use concealers that are thicker, usually in stick form, or in a pot or palette. This prevents the concealer from running. The shade should be about half a shade lighter than the skin.
